About Us

“God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life” - John 3:16

Lampstand began as a group of like-minded believers from very different backgrounds who found themselves longing for their respective communities to taste and see the goodness of God, to glorify Him, and to enjoy the diversity that exists within the body of Christ.  It’s so easy to get caught up in the world we live in, that we fail to value the learnings and unique gifts of those that come from other backgrounds and walks of life.   We believe the Bible’s teaching that Jesus unifies his Church, and that we each have value and bring unique gifts to the body of Christ.  We love our local churches and the community within our respective churches, but believe that our Father’s view of His bride (the “big C” Church) spans our denominations and regions.  As such, we’re working on intentionally building relationships and locking arms with brothers and sisters in Christ across churches in the region.

We believe that salvation is “not by works, so that no one can boast”, but that “faith without works is dead.”  As such, we’re doing our best to pursue the “good works that He prepared in advance for us to do.”

We want to see the gospel spread.  We want to see His Kingdom come and His Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

What’s the “Lampstand” reference

In Revelation 1:20, the seven lampstands are the seven churches.  Given the focus on uniting the diverse church, we found the reference appropriate.
